Abstract
Abstract 439,264. Spectacle frames. GROVES, W. W., 30, Southampton Buildings, Chancery Lane, London.-(Nitsche & G³nther Optische Werke Akt.-Ges. ; Rathenow, Germany) Dec. 24, 1934, No. 36982. [Class 97 (i)] [See also Group V] Parts of a non-metallic spectacle frame arethick. ened for strengthening purposes by giving parts of the blank an increased dimension and working such parts to displace the material into a great er thickness where strong thening is required. The bridge piece may be strengthened by pressing a blank of the shape shown in chain lines between formers b, c until it assumes the shape shown in full lines with consequent thickening of the bridge. In a further form of blank, the bridge is made longer than necessary and reduced in length by pressing. An alternative method consists in forming the whole blank of unusual thickness and removing the surplus material by cutting or pressing.
