Improvements relating to electric condensers
Abstract
Abstract 439,064. Condensers. SOC. ANON. DES MANUFACTURES DES GLACES ET PRODUITS CHIMIQUES DE ST.-GOBAIN, CHAUNY, & CIREY, 1<bis>, Place des Saussaies, Paris. July 20, 1934, No. 21282. Convention date, July 25, 1933. [Class 38 (ii)] A process for making a condenser consists in piling flat cakes comprising vitreous materials capable of softening under the influence of heat mixed with mica, alternately with metallic plates having terminal connectors, heating the pile thus formed up to the softening point of the vitreous materials and then compressing it in a heated mould so as to envelop the plates and their connectors in the dielectric mass. In the Figure, the plates a, a<1> are staggered as shown and connection is made with them by drilling and pouring in molten metal to form cores l, l<1>. In a modification leads are attached to each plate before pressing. Specification 418,488 is referred to.
