Abstract

Abstract 428,369. Recording apparatus. LEVY, M. A. E., 12, Rue DÚsirÚ RuggiÚri, Paris. Nov. 4, 1933, No. 30673. Convention date, Dec. 2, 1932. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, May 8, 1934.] [Class 106 (iv)] [See also Group XXXVIII] In a system for indicating or recording the indications of an instrument, of the type wherein the instrument pointer cooperates with a follow - up member driven by a motor which also directly operates the indicating or printing wheels of an indicating or registering apparatus, the indicating wheels are provided with means for effecting correct alignment, the aligning means being brought into operation automatically. As shown, the pointer A of a measuring apparatus, e.g. a weighing-machine, co-operates with a follower member A 1 driven by a motor M which sets the printing wheels R, S. When a weighing operation takes place, contacts K are closed and relays F, G, EC are operated. Relays F, G lock up and close the motor circuit. The relay EC operates the follower pointer A<1> into the plane of movement of the instrument pointer and when the pointer A<1> overtakes the pointer A, relay C is operated to de-energize relay G and open the motor circuit. The printing wheel R, and also through gearing the wheel S, are thus adjusted into positions corresponding to that of the pointer A. Upon release of relay G, relay E at the printer is operated to lock the wheel R, the wheel being correctly set by the co-operation of the armature with the triangular notches on the wheel. In positions other than the zero position of the wheel R, operation of relay E closes the circuit of a motor m, over a circuit including contact f and a contact ring on the wheel R, the motor being adapted to drive the printing wheel S. The wheel S is connected to its shaft by a spring and the motor m is adapted to drive the wheel S in opposition to the spring control so as to align correctly the wheel S through the medium of the pallets a and a stop bu which is moved into the path of the pallets upon operation of the electromagnet E. Co-operation between a pallet a and the stop bu also completes the circuit of the printing magnet EI. When the magnet EI is operated relay D is energized to effect release of the operated relays and restore the equipment to normal. The aligning notch in the wheel R at the zero position is deeper than the remaining notches so that if the wheel R is brought to rest in its zero position, the armature of the electromagnet E is allowed a longer travel and contacts 2 of the electromagnet are closed to energize directly the printing magnet E1.
