Improvements in and relating to the production of radiographs
Abstract
Abstract 418,181. R÷ntgen - ray apparatus. GROSSMANN, G., 22, Roonstrasse, Zehlendorf West, Berlin. April 21, 1934, No. 12082. Convention date, April 21, 1933. [Class 98 (i).] In radiographic apparatus of the kind in which relative movement is imparted to the R÷ntgen tube and film with respect to the body to be radiographed, the focus of the tube being moved along a two-dimensional curve in a plane and the film moved parallel to the body section in the opposite direction so that the ray through each part of the section always impinges on the same point of the film, the focus of the tube is moved in a plane perpendicular to the body section and the film is moved parallel with itself. If a Potter Bucky grid is used the tube is moved in a plane parallel to the grid bars. In Figs. 3 and 3a the tube 6 is mounted in a housing 5 on an arm 3 rotatable about a trunnion 4 in a slide 13 adjustably mounted in a standard 4<1>, the adjustment being provided so that the trunnion 4 may be brought into the plane of the section to be radiographed. Below the trunnion 4 on a continuation 31 of the arm 3 are adjustably mounted a carriage 7 and counterweight 8. Pivoted to the carriage at 10 is a casing carrying a Potter Bucky grid 11 and film 12, the casing being connected by links 19, 191 to arms 17, 171 so that it is constrained to move parallel with itself while the tube is rotated about the trunnion 4.
