Improvements in and relating to radiant heat installations
Abstract
Abstract 403,899. Radiators for heating buildings. DUTTON & CO., Ltd., H. W., 25, Victoria Street, and CAMPLING, H., 113, Norwood Road, Herne Hill, both in London. July 5, 1933, No. 19063. [Class 64 (ii).] Radiant heat is propagated from heating pipes b by means of flat metallic plates a<2>. supported by the pipes. Each plate may be curved to form a seating e for the pipe and is attached to the latter by ties c. A non-radiating surface such as an asbestos shield k, Fig. 8, may be fitted over the pipe to reduce heat losses. The shield may be covered with metallic foil on top or bottom or it may be replaced by a metallic plate of similar shape, the lower plate a<2> then being dispensed with. In a further modification, a flat horizontal shield may be placed over the pipe in the arrangement of Fig. 1, or both shield and reflecting plate may be on the same side of the pipe as in Fig. 11.
