Improvements in installations for transferring heat or cold from a source to an exchange surface, such as a floor or wall
Abstract
Abstract 399,681. Heating by electricity. DERIAZ, W., 16, Rue de Villereuse, Geneva, Switzerland. Dec. 19, 1932, No. 35998. Convention date, Dec. 21, 1931. [Class 39 (iii).] In a heating or cooling installation having a large surface 5 to be heated, such as the floor of a building or vehicle and a small source of heat 3, the transference of heat from the latter to the former takes place through a sheet 1 of good conducting material such as metal stretching across the width of the floor but separated from it by a space 4 of smaller thermal conductivity which is varied in its thickness or conductivity to cause the floor 5 to be heated evenly. The invention may also be applied to an electric hot plate, as shown in Fig. 7, in which the space 4 is an air space and the heating element 3 is backed by plates 28 enclosing heat insulating dead air spaces.
