Apparatus for registering changes in volume and condition of animal and human organs
Abstract
Abstract 388,607. Capacitance measurements. ATZLER, E. and LEHMANN, G., 201, Hindenburgdamm, Dortmund, Germany. May 17, 1932, No. 14032. Convention date, May 16, 1931. [Class 37.] An apparatus for tracing changes in the volume and condition of human and animal organs, particularly of the heart, comprises a high frequency circuit 3, 4, 5 coupled through an inductance 3 to a valve oscillatory circuit 1, 2, 10, producing a current too weak to cause appreciable heating of the body, which is placed between, but not in contact with, the plates 4, 5 of a condenser, which are capable of movement at right-angles to their planes. The circuit containing the condenser is connected through detecting and amplifying valves 7, 8 with a recording indicator 9, adapted to show variations in the current strength lasting only a fraction of a second. Leads 11, 12 and 13 and 14 supply respectively the heating current for the valves, the plate voltages for the valves 1, 8, and the grid voltage to valve 1.
