A sheet of glass is spaced slightly in front of the prisms and co-operates with a rim I provided with pipe connections 5, 6 to form a hollow chamber which may be more or less filled or emptied at will with a liquid adapted to neutralize or partly neutralize the refracting effects of the prisms. The liquid may be given a golden or orange colour for fog-penetration purposes.
