Improvements in or relating to the making of craped metal foil
Abstract
Abstract 376,040. Craping foil. SPAHN, J., Tõgerwilen, Switzerland. July 30, 1931, No. 21787. [Class 83 (ii).] Aluminium, tin, or other metal foil is craped by pressing it between two surfaces of tensioned rubber, or other material capable of contraction and having somewhat rough surfaces, and then causing or allowing contraction. Bands 1 of rubber are carried by driven rollers 3, 4, 6, 7 and idlers 5, 8, 9, 10, the rollers 3, 6 being larger than 4, 7 but driven at the same'speed thus putting the part t of the bands under greater tension than the parts u. A strip of foil 11 passed between the bands is thus craped as well as being given any pattern existing on the faces of the bands.
