Abstract
Abstract 356,436. Reservoir pens. WAGNER, G., [Firm of], 292, Podbielskistrasse, Hanover, Germany. Aug. 16, 1930, No. 24577. Convention date, Aug. 19, 1929. [Class 146 (iii).] In a reservoir pen of the type in which capillary ink-feed channels F are formed along the bottom of the air duct E in the feed-bar B, the air duct tapers gradually towards the reservoir so as to provide increasing resistance to the inflow of the air and so prevent flooding. The air duct is widest opposite the air opening D in the nib and tapers to a position adjacent the end of the nib shank where it is suddenly enlarged to prevent reduction of the duct to such an extent as to tend to cause choking. In use, ink from the reservoir fills the duct E to the positions J, L when the bubble G breaks away, and the resistance of the ink at J prevents a sudden inrush of air with the resultant overflow of ink and closing of the opening D.
