Abstract
Abstract 342,684. Electric radiators. GRIERSON, R. and GRIERSON, Ltd., 4, Bloomsbury Place, London. Oct. 30, 1929, No. 32945. [Class 39 (iii).] In electrical heating-panels of the kind wherein a resistance B is enclosed within a metallic container A with micanite or other insulating-material b<1> interposed between the resistance and the radiating-surface a<3>, and micanite b<2> and a slab of heat-insulating material D between the resistance and a lid or cover a<1>, the lid is sealed to exclude air from the container. An aperture a<2> may be provided in the lid to enable air to be exhausted and the aperture then closed by sealing. The resistance B is in the form of a net of nickel-chrome or other wire, and the heat-insulating material consists of a slab of cork. In a modification the cork slab D is omitted from the container in order that it may be secured between the lid of the container and the surface to which it is fixed.
