Improvements in or relating to combined sound and picture films
Abstract
Abstract 337,151. Prisner, S., and Wender, E. Sept. 27, 1929. Record, combined phonographic and kinematographic.-The sound record is in the form of a trace consisting of a plurality of substantially parallel lines X, X, which are arranged transversely to the length of the film and are spaced apart in order to provide spaces for the interposition of kinematograph pictures P. If desired, the transverse sound-trace lines and the pictures P may alternate. In reproducing from the film, the slotted rotary drum employed in Specification 332,615 may be arranged with its axis inclined, as shown in dotted lines in the Figure, so that one end of the spiral slot is over the beginning of one transverse line at the instant the other end is over the end of the preceding transverse line. The drum may, however, be replaced by a disc and spiral slot.
