Abstract 333,980. Johnson & Johnson (Gt. Britain), Ltd., (Johnson & Johnson). June 7, 1929. Swabs and tampons.-A surgical pad is provided with a tell-tale element responsive to X-rays so that a definite shadow may be produced thereby in a radiograph. A suitable tell-tale may be a strand or strip 7 of material treated with metallic compounds such as lead sulphate, bismuth subcarbonate, thorium oxide, or barium sulphate. An adhesive or enamel may be employed to prevent the detachment of the coating.
