Improvements in electrical connectors
Abstract
Abstract 222,490. Caillau, M. U. Sept. 27, 1923, [Convention date]. Cable and wire terminals.-A connector of the " tongs " type comprises two blades a of resilient metal with their shanks overlapping and surrounded by a spiral spring g. The blades are formed as co-operating claws and the spring is confined between shoulders d on the shanks and the apertured end of a sheath e of insulating material enclosing the shanks. The blades are cranked so as to lie in the same plane and the shanks are pivoted together by an eyelet c to which the lead wire is attached. The connector is applied to a terminal with the sheath retracted and the latter advances and locks the jaws on the terminal when released. The connector may be removed by again retracting the sheath.
