Abstract 2848. Schmidt, S. Rolfson-. Feb. 5. Dressings; pessaries; tampon introducers.-An appliance for the local treatment of female diseases consists of a mass of absorbent material 1, Fig. 1, confined at or near its centre by a tube 3 with flared ends 4, 5 of different diameters. The absorbent used consists preferably of threads of unspun silk, and is impregnated with suitable medicines or antiseptics. A thread, tied round the absorbent at its centre, serves to withdraw the tampon. The appliance is inserted by means of the tube 7 and ejector rod 8, Fig. 3.
