Process for the Preparation of Artificial Carbonic Baths or other similar Baths in which Gases are Generated.
Abstract
Abstract 11,601. Lebram, P. G. June 2. Bath preparations.-A gradual generation of carbon dioxide in baths is secured by coating the particles of the carbonate employed with a soluble covering of, for example, glue, resin, gum, fats, &c. In the case of glue, this is effected by stirring the carbonate into a solution of glue and drying. Perfumes or medicinal substances may be added. The acidic reagent is preferably formic acid or an organic formate. The generation of other gases, such as oxygen, may be simlarly effected. In the case of oxygen, the peroxides of zinc and barium may be employed. Specifications No. 2161, A.D. 1856, No. 6808, A.D. 1887, [Abridgment Class Acids, alkalies, &c.], and No. 13,993, A.D. 1904, are referred to.
