Improvements in Valves for Pneumatic Tyres.
Abstract
Abstract 23,585. Mohs, J. Oct. 13. Tyres, pneumatic.-Relates to inflating-valves of the type described in Specification No. 18,179, A.D. 1897, in which the valve consists of a rubber tube a having one or more longitudinal slits b arranged in an annular zone. To prevent the valve from becoming deranged by the internal air pressure of the tyre, the end of this rubber tube a is closed by a plug s from which a narrow pin s<1> extends into the tube. The tube is supported from a piece w which, by means of the packing-rings v, gives an airtight connection with the casing x on screwing down the cap y. An air filter o may be employed.
