Abstract

Abstract 152,208. Beanes, W. H. Oct. 23, 1919. Bakers' ovens.-To graduate the heating in a travelling-sole oven, a series of independent furnaces a are provided, each having a group of tubular heating-elements e, and each being arranged to heat a particular portion of the oven. The heating effect can be graduated by varying the size of the furnaces, the number of heating- elements attached to each furnace, or the extent to which the tubes project into the furnace. The tubes e may be disposed above or below the active length of the endless conveyer f, and also below the return length to ensure an adequate temperature at the charging point. The tubes from one furnace may extend into a region of the oven served by an adjacent furnace.
