Abstract 1417906 Welding by fusion U SHARON and I KAPLAN 8 Oct 1973 [17 Oct 1972 4 Dec 1972] 46828/73 Heading B3R [Also in Division A5] A laser beam manipulator device that indicates the point of focus of a laser beam comprises a beam-targeting member 10 connected to a conduit 4 through which the beam passes, and has its tip 13 adjacent to the focus of the beam. To permit the operator to view the area around the focal point, while manoeuvring the laser beam manipulator device, the beam-targeting member 10 may be a single leg tapering off towards the tip 13. Other embodiments are illustrated in Figs. 3- 11 (not shown), and include the use of a hollow transparent tube for the beam-targeting member with an opening adjacent to the focal point of the laser beam.
