Abstract 1339394 Die for surgical staplers VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT KHIRURGICHESKOI APPARATURY I INSTRUMENTOV USSR 6 April 1972 15852/72 Heading A5R [Also in Division B4] A die 1 for use in a surgical stapler, for clinching initially U-shaped metal staples, includes at least one pair of straight recesses 2, the longitudinal axes 3 of the recesses of each pair subtending an acute angle α with a straight line 4 joining the centre points 9 of the staple-receiving ends 5 of the recesses, the staple-receiving ends 5 being mutually remote, while the other ends 6 are mutually adjacent and on opposite sides of the line 4.
