Abstract
Abstract 133,585. Snoaden, E. A. B. Feb. 10, 1919. Piston apparatus for discharging receptacles. -Relates to appliances such as is described in Specification 15458/12 for injecting a liquid disinfectant cr other chemical into and mixing it with a supply of water. The water supply pipe g is connected by an inlet h with the cylinder a that contains the disinfectant &c. so that the pressure of the water acting on a piston d forces the liquid into the mixing chamber b where it mixes with the water. According to the present invention, a spring- controlled valve k closes the opening between the water pipe g and the mixing chamber b so that, as the pressure of the water varies, the proportion of the mixed liquids remains constant, or approximately so. The proportions of the two liquids may be varied by turning a screw n<2> which alters the pressure of the valve k against its seating.
