Abstract
Abstract 1325667 Organ perfusion BAXTER LABORATORIES Inc 5 May 1971 13271/71 Heading A2D An organ perfusion container consists of a body provided with at least one access port and a mouth opening spaced from the access port, with a flexible conduit passing through the access port such that a seal is formed between the container and conduit at the access port, the conduit being slidable within the access port without disruption of the seal, the conduit having a length sufficient to extend simultaneously through both the access port and the mouth opening. One or more conduits and corresponding one or more access ports may be provided. The container may be rigid or flexible, the latter being shown in Fig. 1 and comprising a bag 10, conduits 22, 24, 26, 28 and 30 each positioned in sleeves 32, said conduits 24 and 28 being attached to a human kidney 12. The kidney may be positioned within the container, the conduits being simultaneously pulled out of the sleeves so that they will not coil up within the container. Perfusion solution may be pumped through the kidney via conduits 24 and 28.
