Abstract
Abstract 1,179,243. Testing computers. INTERNATIONAL COMPUTERS Ltd. 13 July, 1967 [23 July, 1966]. No. 33236/66. Heading G4A. Data processing apparatus is tested by first testing the capability of the apparatus to respond to a sequence of fault detecting tests and then initiating said sequence of fault detecting tests. Thus, a computer system may include equipment for checking that a minimum of hardware is available for carrying out a test programme before that programme designed to test the computer fully is performed. The test equipment may include lamps to indicate the stage of a test routine reached and to indicate the location of a fault if. one occurs in the part of the computer tested thereby. Details of a suitable test routine are given.
