Handrail fixing, e.g. for steps - comprises head which fits into upper end of supporting post and connects with recess in underside of handrail by rod and transverse bar
Abstract
Abstract The fixing consists of a head (21) which fits inside the upper end (7) of a support post (3) and is connected to the handrail (1) by a bar (29) at the top of a rod (27). The upper end of the post can be rotated and locked relative to the lower section (9) by means of an inner sleeve (11) and locking screws (13) to accommodate the angle of the rail, the underside of which has a recess (5) to receive the top of the rod (27) and the bar (29). Once the fixing has been fitted and aligned, the head (21) is fixed in position by a locking screw (25) engaging with an annular groove (23). Both the handrail and the supporting post can be cylindrical in section. ADVANTAGE - Easy to position and quick to fit.
