Abstract
Abstract The invention relates to a flexible biocompatible intramedullary obturator intended for fitting a prosthesis in orthopaedic surgery. The invention consists of an obturator of flexible consistency for completely deforming under the action of stresses encountered during its fitting. Any pressing together of the walls or any convex deformation on the internal surface of the bone will tend to compress the obturator and lead to the filling of any concave surface. It is free of open worked fins in order to prevent leakage of cement. The modulus of elasticity of the material used lies between 0.5 and 50 N/mm<2>.
