Abstract The invention relates to a surgical apparatus for performing biopsies. This apparatus comprises: - a cylindrical casing passed through axially by a tube 38; - a tubular cannula 62 which ends, in a manner which is known per se, at one end in a circular cutting edge 66; - a piercer consisting of a rod which is longer than the cannula and which ends at one end in a sharpened point 80.
