Abstract
Abstract The invention relates to an active optical coupler for bidirectional linkage. This coupler includes a light-emitting diode 4 and a photodetecting diode 5 which are both positioned as close as possible to the linkage fibre 2 whose end 9 is bevelled at an angle a such that it permits maximum coupling of these diodes to the fibre. Application to fibre-optic telecommunication systems.
