OIL-IN-WATER EMULSION OF NUTRIENT SUBSTANCES FOR ORAL OR PARENTERAL SUPERIMENTION, OR BY TUBING
Abstract
Abstract Translated from French Nouvelle émulsion de type huile-dans-l'eau pour suralimentation. New oil-in-water type emulsion for supercharging. It contains maltose, in addition to a hydrophobic substance, water and an emulsifier. Maltose serves as an isotonic agent and stabilizer. Due to its nutritional power at a high caloric level, it is advantageous for the treatment of patients in critical condition, particularly during operations or during heavy bleeding.
