Sleeve for e.g. fixing rotary switch to hollow surface - fits on axle using ramp which is shouldered, and stepped out set axial arms to obtain spring clip effect
Abstract
Abstract The sleeve may be used to fix a rotary electric switch to a hollow surface, housing onto an axis and utilising a spring clip effect. Its leading end is bevelled, and segments of some 40 degrees at 120 degree intervals incorporate cantilever arms. The sleeve barrel is set in at the arm locations, and the arms cantilever from the leading sleeve end in a nominally axial direction. The root of arm extends bevel before the arm cranks to continue aft parallel to the sleeve axis. A clearance allows the cantilever arm to deflect when the sleeve is introduced in the hole, with a step engaging the inside panel face to prevent extraction. A radial nib may engage a notch to prevent rotation of the sleeve.
