Tubular retaining support for setting bone fracture - comprises two telescopic sections with interfitting ridges and depressions preventing relative rotation between them
Abstract
Abstract The two telescopic elements (I,II) can slide relative to one another but no relative rotation is permitted so preventing relative rotation of the bones to which they are secured. The interior of the outer element (I) is formed with thickened contoured portions which overlie corresponding depressions in the outside of the inner element. Four leaf-like elements (10) are formed on the distal end of the inner element and these prevent rotation of the distal part of the fracture. The rotation of the proximal part of the fracture is prevented by a fixing piece (3) which is attached to the bone by a screw passing through two opposed holes formed in it.
