Abstract

Abstract Thin film magnetic alloy recording disc comprises an disc shaped substrate, a layer of magnetic alloy. The surface is etched by sputtering so as to cause practically complete disappearance of adsorbed gas and other contaminants; and a coating of carbon formed on the magnetic alloy. Used for recording numerical information. A self lubricating wear resistant magnetic alloy compsn. is formed on the disc.
