Abstract

Abstract The cerebral biopsy probe has a hollow cylindrical external needle with an open rear end. The needle is closed at the forward end by a rounded tip, immediately behind which is a lateral opening. The probe also has a similar internal needle with a lateral opening at the same distance from the tip as in the case of the external one, so as to fit coaxially inside the latter. When the inner probe bears against the end of the external one, the two lateral openings are in line with each other or diametrally opposite, the internal needle being rotated inside the external probe. The rear end of the internal needle can have a union for the connection of a suction device.
