Gynaecological sterilisation instrument - has hollow electrode protruding from the end of a curved ended tube
Abstract
Abstract The instrument operates by electro-coagulation of the Eustachian tubes and spraying with medicaments and/or puncture of the hydrosalpinxes via the lower passage. A hollow electrode is introduced into a tube (1) with a curved end. The electrode (7) protrudes beyond the tube and can have a connecting tube at 90 deg. to accommodate a manometer and a spraying syringe for the medicament and/or puncture of serosities. The electrode can be enclosed in an insulating sheath for its entire length, apart from the tip. The tube can have an unscrewing sleeve at one end, allowing withdrawal of electrode and thruster tappet for cleaning.
