Abstract

Abstract Suture device to obviate the dangers to a patient which may arise when post-operational stitches in the abdominal wall fail before the wound is healed. Essentially a supporting suture of the non-absorbable type comprises two pairs of spacing plates with preformed thread holes. In each pair of spacing plates, one is made of soft, resilient, material to rest against the flesh on one side of the wound, while the other plate is made of harder material to present a rigid surface on which the threads can be tied off.
