Claim 1
Independent Claim
188 words
An artificial tubular organ comprising a tubular supporting frame (1) made of a plastic material and a fabric (10) arranged on at least one of inner and outer surfaces of said tubular supporting frame, said fabric being composed of at least one fabric selected from the group consisting of woven fabrics, nonwoven fabrics, and knitted fabrics, and including absorbable macromolecular yarns and nonabsorbable macromolecular yarns, characterized in that said supporting frame (1) is composed of a plurality of ring portions (2) arranged on an axis and connected by a corresponding plurality of connecting portions, such that a first pair of connecting portions (3a, 3a') formed as integral part of a first ring portion and extending between neighboring two ring portions (2a, 2b) to connect them with each other, a second pair of said connecting portions (3b, 3b') being diametrically arranged on the neighboring ring portion (2b, 2c), said second pair (3b, 3b') of said connecting portions being opposed such that the plane (L2) containing their center lines intersects at right angles with the plane (L1) containing the center lines of said first pair of diametrically opposed connecting portions.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
31 words
An artificial tubular organ according to claim 1 wherein yarns are double yarns or twist yarns composed of at least one absorbable macromolecular yarns and at least one nonabsorbable macrcmolecular yarns.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
29 words
An artificial tubular organ according to any one of claims 1 or 2 wherein the fabric is a union cloth composed of absorbable macromolecular yarns and nonabsorbable macromolecular yarns.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
45 words
An artificial tubular organ according to any one of claims 1 to 3 wherein nonabsorbable macromolecular yarns is composed of fibers made of a material selected from the group consisting of polyesters, polyolefins, polyamide resins, fluoroplastics, chlorine resins, polyurethane resins, cellulose derivatives, and natural fibers.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
24 words
An artificial tubular organ according to any one of claims 1 to 4 wherein nonabsorbable macromolecular yarns is composed of one of polyolefine fibers.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
23 words
An artificial tubular organ according to any one of claims 1 to 5 wherein said fabrics or yarns are coated with a protein.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
57 words
An artificial tubular organ according to any one of claims 1 to 6 wherein said absorbable macromolecular yarns are included in the fabric so that they are dissolved and absorbed in the organism after implantation to form openings or pores having an average diameter of 110 »m and being present at least 20 % in the fabric.
