La fréquence des oscillations est réglée entre 0,3 et 10 MHz et la durée des trains d'ondes, à des valeurs comprises entre 1 µs et 1 ms. La cadence des tirs est comprise entre quelques Hz et 2 ou 3 KHz. The apparatus comprises a piezoelectric source, distributed over a surface of brief elastic oscillations comprising negative peaks and means for focusing the oscillations on the target. The frequency of the oscillations is adjusted between 0.3 and 10 MHz and the duration of the wave trains, at values between 1 µs and 1 ms. The rate of fire is between a few Hz and 2 or 3 KHz.
