Abstract

Abstract A magneto-optical disk device for receiving a magneto-optical disk housed in a cassette (CA) and for driving the magneto-optical disk by a disk drive motor to read/write the disk, includes a movable cassette carrier (22) having a top plate (22a) for receiving the cassette (CA) therein, a read/write head located under the cassette carrier (22), a magnetic field coil (11) slidably mounted on the top plate (22a) above the read/write head to move in a direction parallel to the movement of the read/write head, a pole (7) extending approximately perpendicular from the read/write head at a position offset from the cassette carrier (22), and an arm (8) having one end slidably mounted on the pole (7) and other end fixedly connected to the magnetic field coil (11).

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 90 words
A magneto-optical disk device comprising: a magnetic field coil (11) which applies a magnetic field to a magneto-optical disk; an optical head (2, 3) which slides parallel to the face of said magneto-optical disk; a first support member (8) which supports said magnetic field coil; a second support member (7) which is mounted to said optical head (2, 3) and supports said first support member (8) in such a manner that the first support member is able to slide in a direction perpendicular to the face of the magneto-optical disk.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 90 words
A magneto-optical disk device comprising: a magnetic field coil (11) which applies a magnetic field to a magneto-optical disk; an optical head (2, 3) which slides parallel to the face of said magneto-optical disk; a first support member (8) which supports said magnetic field coil; a second support member (7) which is mounted to said optical head (2, 3) and supports said first support member (8) in such a manner that the first support member is able to slide in a direction perpendicular to the face of the magneto-optical disk.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 225 words
A magneto-optical disk device for receiving a magneto-optical disk housed in a cassette (CA) and for driving said magneto-optical disk by a disk drive motor (M) to read/write said disk, said magneto-optical disk device comprising: a cassette carrier (1) having a top plate member (22a) for receiving said cassette therein; first driving means (30, 28, 26, 18, 20, 24) for driving said cassette carrier (1) to a position above said disk drive motor (M) and to descend so as to have said cassette (CA) in engagement with said motor (M); read/write head means (2, 3) located under said cassette carrier (1); second driving means (6) for driving said read/write head means (2, 3) to move in a direction parallel to a face of said top plate member (22a); a magnetic field coil (11) slidably mounted on said top plate member (22a) above said read/write head means (2, 3) to move in a direction parallel to the movement of said read/write head means (2, 3); and an elevation connecting means (7, 8) for connecting said read/write head means (2, 3) with said magnetic field coil (11) such that said magnetic field coil (11) is maintained above said read/write head means (2, 3) after said cassette carrier (1) is descended and during the movement of said read/write head means (2, 3) by said second driving means (6).
