Total Claims: 12
Claim 1
Independent Claim
93 words
A tubular article useful in prosthetic surgery having a plurality of fibers or yarns manufactured from at least one bioabsorbable polymer the improvement comprising a texturized plurality of fibers or yarns manufactured by the process comprising: (1) deforming the plurality of fibers or yarns; (2) setting the plurality of fibers or yarns from step (1) by (a) heating them under a vacuum of up to about 5 torr; and (b) cooling the fibers or yarns to ambient temperature; and (3) mechanically removing the deformation inserted in the fibers or yarns from step (1).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim

A tubular article useful in prosthetic surgery having a plurality of fibers or yarns manufactured from at least one bioabsorbable polymer the improvement comprising a texturized plurality of fibers or yarns manufactured by the process comprising: (1) deforming the plurality of fibers or yarns; (2) setting the plurality of fibers or yarns from step (1) by (a) heating them under a vacuum of up to about 5 torr; and (b) cooling the fibers or yarns to ambient temperature; and (3) mechanically removing the deformation inserted in the fibers or yarns from step (1).
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
20 words
The article of claim 1 wherein step (2)(a) comprises heating the fibers or yarns up to their glass transition temperature.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
23 words
The article of claim 2 comprising a vascular graft having a plurality of fibers or yarns manufactured from at least one bioabsorbable copolymer.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
44 words
The article of claim 1 or 2 or 3 having a plurality of at least three different fibers or yarns, the first and second fibers or yarns manufactured from two different bioabsorbable polymers and the third fiber or yarn manufactured from a non-bioabsorbable polymer.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
89 words
A process for texturizing a plurality of fibers or yarns for use in a prosthetic article, the plurality of fibers or yarns manufactured from at least one bioabsorbable polymer, the process comprising: (1) deforming the plurality of fibers or yarns; (2) setting the plurality of fibers or yarns from step (1) by (a) heating them under a vacuum of up to about 5 torr; and (b) cooling the fibers or yarns to ambient temperature; and (3) mechanically removing the deformation inserted in the fibers or yarns from step (1).
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
89 words
A process for texturizing a plurality of fibers or yarns for use in a prosthetic article, the plurality of fibers or yarns manufactured from at least one bioabsorbable polymer, the process comprising: (1) deforming the plurality of fibers or yarns; (2) setting the plurality of fibers or yarns from step (1) by (a) heating them under a vacuum of up to about 5 torr; and (b) cooling the fibers or yarns to ambient temperature; and (3) mechanically removing the deformation inserted in the fibers or yarns from step (1).
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
20 words
The process of claim 5 wherein step (2)(a) comprises heating the fibers or yarns up to their glass transition temperature.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
22 words
The process of claim 5 wherein step (2)(a) comprises heating the fibers or yarns to a temperature from about 100 to 190°C.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
34 words
The process of claim 5 wherein step (2)(a) comprises a vacuum at or less than about 1 torr, and a relative humidity (of the atmosphere in the heating step) of up to about 25%.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
43 words
The process of claim 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 comprising after the removing step: (4) resetting the plurality of fibers or yarns from step (3) by (a) reheating and then (b) recooling them as described in steps (2)(a) and (b), respectively.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim
31 words
The process of claim 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 comprising after the removing step: (4) plying the plurality of fibers together to obtain at least a two ply yarn.
