Abstract
Abstract A photopolymerizable composition here disclosed is useful as a material for dental prostheses and denture-bases, and the composition comprises an alicyclic epoxy compound as the main component, methyl methacrylate as a diluent, a cationic photopolymerization initiator, and a photosensitizer selected from perylene or naphthacene. A photocured material of the above-mentioned composition is excellent in gloosiness, wear resistance and plaque resistance.

A photopolymerizable composition according to Claim 1 wherein said cationic photopolymerization initiator is an aromatic sulfonium salt represented by the general formula (I) wherein each of R₁ to R₄ is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, a phenyl group or a hydroxyalkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and R₁ to R₄ may be identical or different; and MX is at least one selected from the group consisting of SbF₆, AsF₆, PF₆ and BF₄.
