Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 47 words
A primer composition, for use in a method for adhering to or coating hard tissue, characterized by comprising a single phase aqueous solution comprising water, water-soluble film former, and a salt of an acid, said solution being in the form of a film atop said hard tissue.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 47 words
A primer composition, for use in a method for adhering to or coating hard tissue, characterized by comprising a single phase aqueous solution comprising water, water-soluble film former, and a salt of an acid, said solution being in the form of a film atop said hard tissue.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 68 words
A composition according to claim 1, characterized in that said film former contains one or more addition-polymerizable substances having a sufficient number of water-solubilizing groups to render said film former, exclusive of any water that may be present therein, soluble in water to at least 5 weight percent, such water-solubilizing groups being selected from hydroxyl groups, carboxyl groups, sulfonic acid groups, cationic salts, amide linkages and polyether linkages.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 15 words
A composition according to any preceding claim, characterized in that said film former comprises 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 21 words
A composition according to any preceding claim, characterized in that said salt comprises a salt of a mineral or organic acid.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 32 words
A composition according to any preceding claim, characterized in that said salt comprises a salt of a carboxylic acid, alkylsulfonic acid, or arylsulfonic acid, and has an alkaline earth or alkali cation.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 16 words
A composition according to any preceding claim, characterized in that said salt comprises a calcium salt.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 16 words
A composition according to any preceding claim, characterized in that said salt comprises a haloacetate salt.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 36 words
A composition according to any preceding claim, characterized in that said solution contains 10 to 90 weight percent of said film former, and at least 0.001 moles of said salt per 1000 grams of said primer.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 36 words
A composition according to any preceding claim, characterized in that said solution contains 25 to 80 weight percent of said film former, and 0.01 to 1 moles of said salt per 1000 grams of said primer
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 36 words
A composition according to any preceding claim, characterized in that said solution contains 35 to 70 weight percent of said film former, and 0.05 to 0.5 moles of said salt per 1000 grams of said primer.
