Abstract

Abstract A tube (11) for guiding a rod-like medical instrument into a living body, which comprises a tubular body made of a synthetic resin and having a longitudinal hollow portion to permit the passage of the rod-like medical instrument. The whole of the tubular body is formed to have a chemical uniformity, but at least one brittle portion (12a, 12b) such as a weld line is longitudinally formed over the entire length (or almost the entire length except tip portion) of the tubular body. A method and an apparatus for molding such a tube provided with the brittle portion are also proposed.

Claim 2
Dependent Claim 89 words
A tube (11) for guiding rod-like medical instruments into a living body, comprising: a tubular body formed of synthetic resin in a hollow shape capable of positioning the rod-like medical instruments, and at least one brittle portion (12a, 12b) formed so that the splitting strength thereof is smaller than the other portion over the entire length of longitudinal direction of the tubular body or the entire length of the longitudinal direction of the tubular body except the end thereof and formed of the same material as the other portion.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 51 words
The tube for guiding rod-like medical instruments according to claim 1, characterized in that a distal end of the tubular body is processed such that an inner diameter thereof fits in with an inner needle to be positioned within the tubular body, and proximal end of the tubular body is expanded.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 28 words
The tube for guiding rod-like medical instruments according to claim 1, characterized in that a pair of brittle portions (12a, 12b) are formed oppositely in the radial direction.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 45 words
The tube for guiding rod-like medical instruments according to claim 1, characterized in that said hollow tubular body is formed of a material selected from a group consisting of polypropylene, fluorine resin, hydrogenated polyethylene, and a blended polymer of polyolefin resin and ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 31 words
The tube for guiding rod-like medical instruments according to claim 1, characterized in that the brittle portion (12a, 12b) is a weld line which is intentionally formed at extrusion molding time.
Claim 7
Independent Claim 169 words
A method of producing a tube for guiding rod-like medical instruments into a living body having a tubular body formed of synthetic resin in a hollow shape capable of positioning the rod-like medical instruments, and at least one brittle portion (12a, 12b) formed so that the splitting strength thereof is smaller than the other portion over the entire length of longitudinal direction of the tubular body or the entire length of the longitudinal direction of the tubular body except the end thereof and formed of the same material as the other portion, comprising the steps of: substantially temporarily splitting the synthetic resin flow at least by one or more baffles (15a, 15b) arranged near a nozzle of a die (17) of an extruder of a molding resin passageway (18) in the vicinity of the nozzle of the die (17) of the extruder (13), and then recombining the split resin flows, and extruding the molding resin flow from the nozzle of the die (17) while molding as the brittle portion.
Claim 8
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 32 words
The method according to claim 6, characterized in that the baffles (15a, 15b) are positioned at the ends 0 to 5 mm from the end of the nozzle of the die (17).
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 35 words
