Abstract

In order to connect a large number of thin-film solar cells in series, separating trenches (5) are made mechanically in a thin layer (3) applied to the substrate (1) provided with the front electrodes (2) according to a previously applied strip pattern (4), preferably made of plastic generated, then the entire surface of the metallization (6) for the rear electrodes (8) is carried out, the trenches (5) being filled with metal (6) and then the stripe pattern (4) being removed by lifting technology, with the stripe pattern (4 ) covered areas of the thin film surface (3) separating trenches (7) for the back electrodes (8) are formed. The process is simple to carry out, can be easily integrated into the solar cell process and has no area limitation. The efficiency of the solar cells is not reduced by the series connection. The process is used to produce large-area panels for photovoltaic modules.
