Abstract

Abstract An arrangement for applying a tissue adhesive based on human or animal proteins, to seamlessly or seam-supportingly connect human or animal tissue or organ parts by uniting with blood-clot-promoting coagulation factors (thrombin). The arrangement includes a plurality of syringe bodies commonly actuatable by pistons and to which a connecting head is attachable. The syringe bodies have equal effective strokes, yet one of them, i.e., that destined to contain the protein solution, has a cross sectional area that is two to nine times larger than the other one(s). There may be applied tissue adhesives having a fibrinogen content of from 2 to 12%.

Total Claims: 3
Claim 1
Independent Claim 184 words
Arrangement for applying a tissue adhesive based on human or animal proteins, to seamlessly or seamsupportingly connect human or animal tissue or organ parts, seal wounds, stop bleedings and the like, which tissue adhesive is solidified in situ by uniting it with blood-clot-promoting coagulation factors, which arrangement includes two syringe bodies (1, 2) ending in joining pieces and provided with commonly actuatable pistons (21, 22), one syringe body (1) containing a protein component and the other one (2) containing a thrombin component, a connecting head (16) being attachable to the joining pieces (14, 15) of the syringe bodies and provided with a separate conveying channel (17, 18) for each of the components to be applied and optionally for a medical propellant, characterised in that the syringe bodies (1, 2) have equal effective strokes, the syringe body (1) containing the protein component has a cross sectional area that is two to nine times larger than the cross sectional area of the syringe body (2) containing the thrombin component, so that the volumes of the syringe bodies also have a ratio of 2:1 to 9: 1.

Dependent Claim 184 words

Claim 3
Dependent Claim 52 words
Arrangement according to claim 1, characterised in that the syringe bodies (1, 2) are designed as twin-chamber syringe bodies, wherein in the mouth- side chambers (25, 27) the protein component (26) and the thrombin component (28), each in lyophilised form, are storable, and in the other chambers (29, 30) solvent is storable.
