Apparatus for human cornea transplantation
Abstract
A device for surgery on the cornea of the human eye is put together according to the invention from various instruments and auxiliary devices in such a way that the transplantation of a disc-shaped part of the cornea (perforating keratoplasty) can be carried out largely automatically by machine, whereby manual manipulations can be almost eliminated . An axis adjustment instrument (17), a trepan (18) and a transplant (19) are attached to a three-dimensionally adjustable carrier in such a way that these instruments can optionally be brought into line with the patient's visual axis and moved to a presettable height. The carrier preferably comprises an auxiliary carrier (8) and a turntable (11) pivotable thereon about a horizontal axis (12). This carries the instruments. A bulb holder ring (14) is height-adjustable on the auxiliary carrier (8) and a manipulator (15) and a cartridge changer (16) are immovably attached. The instruments and auxiliary devices are described in detail. The device as a whole can be operated by means of a control console (20). The functions and program sequences are electrically controlled, can be stored and are made visible on a monitor (21).
