Abstract

The invention relates to a device for catching and removing ureter stones or kidney stones in the kidney pelvis or in the ureter. This is a loop catheter in which the tube (1) has flats (2, 3) and slots (4). After passing the stone (8), the loop is closed into a cage-like structure which has the special feature of covering the stone (8) flatly (7, 2) and thereby significantly increasing the security against slipping on the stone. At the same time, the flattening (2) of a larger area of the stone (8) loosens the mucous membrane and facilitates the mobility of the stone in the ureter. In contrast to known cage-like extractors, the sling according to the invention entails less risk of injury to the ureter when inserting and capturing the stone.
