Abstract
Abstract A mechanical gun for circular anastomosis of hollow organs by which the elements of a particular suturing device are restrained one into the other compressing between their walls the tissue edges of two resected hollow organs, the gun also comprising of a circular cutting member (7, 37) which provides to trim outside the compression area inside the device the edges of the facing tissues, and releases afterward the circular mechanical gun from the suturing device which will be maintained until a natural suture forms between the connected hollow organs.

Circular mechanical anastomotic g un suitable for the insertion of a proper device to effect the anastomosis of hollow organs, characterized in that it consists in: - a head portion comprising a central pivot (4) carrying at the end a blocking device (5) and, coaxial with the central pivot (4), successively three tubular elements (6, 12 and 11) which carry at their ends facing the blocking device (5), a circular blade (7, 37) and two suitably shaped supporting elements (10, 9, 40 and 39) respectively; - a median portion comprising lever arms (13) pivoted in the pivots (14) allowing the operation of a body (15) coaxial with the central pivot (4), and that said body (15) transmits the movement urging to shift, first simultaneously, an inner cylinder (6) carrying the circular blade (7, 37) and an intermediate tubular element (12) carrying the support (10), then after the intermediate tubular element (12) has completed its stroke, moving forward only the inner cylinder (6) so that the blade (7, 37) exceeds the base surface of the blocking device (5), the springs (16) maintaining the arms (13) in opening position, and - an end portion comprising a thread obtained on the central pivot (4) for its shifting upon rotation of a knob (20) against the remaining parts, a cap nut (22) integral with the central pivot (4) and a graduated scale (26) placed on a circular element (24) coaxial with the central pivot (4) for measuring said shifting.
