Heart pacing device comprising an epicardial electrode distinct from anchoring means
Abstract
Abstract The device is particularly efficient since it permits the positioning of two electrodes, one on the right atrium and the other on the right ventricle, in order to bring about synchronous contractions conforming with the physiology. This device is of the type comprising, on the one hand, a conducting electrode (1) which is to be positioned to the outside of the heart and, on the other hand, anchoring hooks (6). It is characterised in that the free ends (6a) of the hooks (6) are situated above the most prominent part of a seat (2) and in particular the top of the electrode (1) so that they reach the cardiac wall directly before any other element has been able to push it back. In order to prevent protrusion of the electrode (1) when the hooks (6) are straightened by bending the seat (2), the latter contains a rigid element such as a member (8). <IMAGE>
