Process for the production of catalysts for the treatment of exhaust gases of internal-combustion engines
Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of catalysts for the treatment of exhaust gases from internal combustion engines. The process for the preparation of catalysts according to the invention is characterized in that, in a first step, the palladium and the base metals are introduced, in a second step it is dried and calcined, in a third step, the metals are introduced precious of the platinum group other than palladium, in a fourth step the catalyst is dried and activated, preferably in an inert atmosphere. The catalysts for treating the exhaust gases of internal combustion engines prepared by the process of the invention can be used either for oxidation or for carrying out the oxidation and the simultaneous reduction of the harmful compounds present in the exhaust gases.
