Abstract
Abstract A novel heptadecapeptide is described which is represented by the primary structure: Tyr-Gly-Gly-Phe-Leu-Arg-Arg-Ile-Arg-Pro-Lys-Leu-Lys-Trp-Asp-Asn-Gln. There is also disclosed a process for the preparation of the novel heptadecapeptide as well as a pharmaceutical composition containing the same. The heptadecapeptide according to the invention possesses an analgesic activity, especially an opioid activity, and is preferably obtained by extraction and purification from porcine duodenum.
