Abstract
Abstract An arrangement is proposed which is adapted to prevent misconnection between two optical connectors each having a female half (1) and a male half (21). The female half (1) is formed with a projection (3) and the male half (21) is formed with a hole (23) to receive the projection (3). A guide plate (4) having one corner beveled is mounted on the projection (3) to prevent misconnection.

An arrangement for preventing misconnection between two optical connectors each having a male half and a female half, characterised in that one of said female half and said male half is provided with a projection, that a separate guide plate is provided which is adapted to mount on said projection with its top side up or down and has a cross section asymmetrical about both its vertical and horizontal axes, that the other of said female half and said male half is formed with a hole having substantially the same shape as said guide plate so that said guide plate mounted on said projection will fit therein with its top side up or with its top side down.
